Vocabulary Everyone Has a Different Experience By Wanna Ruxsarash Everyone has a different experience in their life. It can be both good or bad. I would like to write about the comparison in Mamacita’s story “No Speak English”, Grandfather Journey in the picture book and my experience in the United States. Mamacita and the baby boy arrived to the United States to live together with her husband, but she doesn’t like to live here. She is homesick and misses the pink house in her country. She feels lonely and very sad. She only stays in one place because she is afraid to speak English. “No speak English” she says. Grandfather came from Japan to the United States when he was an adolescent. He was adventurous by himself and he took many journeys to other places. He saw many astonishing things. For example, he is standing on mesa and looked at vista. He met acquaintances in the United States. After that, he returned to Japan. He got married and had a baby girl. My experience in the United States was wonderful. I have been learning English, so now my English got much better than before. I had the opportunity to meet new friends and acquaintances from different countries and I can speak English with them. I have been trying different kinds of food from different countries. Also, I like living in the United States because it has many seasons. For example, winter, fall, spring, and summer My favorite season is spring, when flowers bloom. In conclusion, Mamacita doesn’t want to stay in the United States because she can’t speak English. Grandfather has experience in the United States about nature, the people, but my experience is learning about different languages, meeting the people, food, and weather. Teacher: Neeland, AM 40
