(Spring) offee Cer C e m In our Habesha culture, when we have guests who come to our home, we have a ceremony with special coffee. If they have time, we make coffee. First we cook the coffee beans on the fire and shake the pan till the beans are dark. Then we grind the beans. We sit in a circle. We pour the coffee and drink it with special small cups. Everything is prepared with sugar or milk or however the guests want it. Sometimes we also eat popcorn. The talking is informal and the conversation is pleasant and sometimes funny. We do this here in this country too. Ticktin, AM y on Sara Hagos Teacher: Ruth 45
