L LO CA XZEL (Gold Coast) Ghetto Symphony - Out now There’s no denying Gold Coast Emcee XZEL is a passionate man dedicated to his craft, spending five years perfecting Ghetto Symphony to ensure this album serves up everything he always hoped it would – delivering a street journalistic approach on life, covering the many issues Australian men and the wider society go through daily, as well as showing people you don’t have to own expensive instruments to create any masterpiece, as the album title suggests. The 15 tracks infuse hip hop with rock, soul and R&B to create a vivid collage of modern and defining Australian music. XZEL’s lyrics ooze his ambition to further social awareness in order for any indifference to be discussed - resolutions to be found without wars. The tracks are diverse, yet complement each other making for a unique listening journey. XZEL plans to tour soon - in the meantime you can check out his unique vocal style by getting Ghetto Symphony on iTunes at www.itunes.apple.com/au/album/ghetto-symphony/id860616245 & on Amazon www.amazon.com/Ghetto-Symphony-Explicit-Xzel/dp/B00JMTHND2 PURPLE ZAIN (Gold Coast/Tweed) Supervision - Oct 31 on EeZePeZe Music Gig: Launch Party in Tweed Heads at The Dolphins Hotel, Oct 31 Last time LiQUiFY caught up with Purple Zain he was atop a speaker stack waving his shirt around like a cowboy before jumping off and risking certain death, that luckily didn’t eventuate at an off chops Guttermouth show. Sounds like he’s been hectic since then too, producing his second rock opera known as Supervision from his home studio in Coolanghetto. With personal interests listed on his Facebook page such as “I used to love guitar but now all I want to play is my Akai MPK25 and Ableton Live9”, this album is one fantastic journey, inspired by the electro sound of Zain’s time spent as guitarist with Gold Coast band Zeus Baby. The electro-synth rock opera follows the plot set in the year 3084 when a psychiatry registrar is searching for the definitive cure for mental illness. See Zain perform the entire album at the Launch Party ‘cause you’re invited. www.facebook.com/supervisionthealbum
