COLD WAR KIDS
Hold My Home (Oct 17, Create/Control and Downtown)
A decade ago this indie rock band took to the stage
for the first time in their homegrown Southern California
scene, and quickly made waves around the globe with
unique vocals and honest lyrics. Since then the band’s
hard work, touring and recording has seen them stay
on track where others have failed and fallen by the
wayside, to now release a fifth album which they wrote
and recorded in their own San Pedro studio, and one
which the band describes as the most simple album
since the first one.
JOHNNY CASH (VARIOUS)
Look Again To the Wind: Johnny Cash’s Bitter Tears
Revisited (Released Aug 22, Sony)
Johnny may have passed away in 2003 but 50 years after
the release of his landmark album Bitter Tears: Ballads
of the American Indian, a group of modern day music
giants like Kris Kristofferson have reinterpreted the potent
tracks in tribute for a new generation. Waaay back in
1964, this concept album focused on the mistreatment
and marginalization of Native Americans in the US.
