A mixed bag of mayhem but capable of producing below-sea-level lefts with the added flare of a killer backwash - this is the challenging wave that runs from the pool into Froggys. There’s a little bit of reef behind Snapper that sometimes exposes itself and kicks this wave off, running fast across the razor-blade keyholes on the back of Snapper, and if she so lets you, allowing for an explosive exit under the doggy door into the Froggys bay area. Traditionally a wave reserved to lunatic bodyboarders with a death wish, it has opened up in recent years, attracting a select few local hellmen such as Luke Dorrington and a Mr Joel Parkinson to have a crack. Beware the rocks, the backwash, the currents, the lip ... everything about this wave should make the average surfer curl up into a ball and fall on the ground. Score one though, and you’ll have seen a view not many have before you.
