“Oh my goodness that was … I feel like there was no way
I was this nervous in my first one (title win) but that was
like the craziest couple of hours just sitting and waiting ... I
really had no doubt in my mind that Tyler could take it all
the way and win the event and I was mentally prepared to
get out there and do a surf off but Karissa – she’s the world
champion, or she’s the defending world champion, and
she’s such a talented surfer and I knew that would be a
really good heat to watch.
“Oh my gosh this is so unreal, I can’t believe here in Maui
again, it’s such a special place to me, and to all my
friends, thanks everyone for tuning in at home, my family,
my mum and dad – here comes the tears - my boyfriend
and everybody, thanks so much for all the support.”
