PINK FLOYD // The Endless River (Out now, Sony) Pink Floyd’s founding member and keyboardist Rick Wright died in 2008 and this album is a tribute for him from his bandmates, David Gilmour and Nick Mason, who drew on his influence by listening to over 20 hours of the trio playing together and selected the music they wanted to work on for the new album. Says Nick, “I think this record is a good way of recognising a lot of what he does and how his playing was at the heart of the Pink Floyd sound. Listening back to the sessions, it really brought home to me what a special player he was.” The Endless River is mainly a four-sided instrumental album with one song, Louder Than Words, which will include new lyrics by Polly Samson, a British songwriter, novelist and journalist married to Gilmour www.pinkfloyd.com/theendlessriver DAVID BOWIE // Nothing Has Changed (Out now, Parlophone) Bowie is back, and the choices to savour this legend of cool are bigger than Ben Hur.
