What do you love about the beach so much?
“I love the energy and atmosphere of the
beach, the smell of the ocean and the sights
(read ‘hot surfers’). I am a big fan of the healing
powers of a dip in Bondi’s waves after a big night
out. But I can also testify that a pre-emptive skinny
dip in Red Leaf pool with friends at midnight has
an even better effect!”

How has the
shapes, colours and moods of the beach influenced
your latest collection?
“I was designing this collection from my apartment right on
the water so the mood was definitely one which I soaked
up through osmosis. I was really inspired by the laid-back,
nonchalant style of the surfers and how the streets of Bondi
are transformed as the sun sets into a world of neon lights, sun
downers and glamour.”
And who do you envisage wears your clothes – for instance,
would she like gelato or chocolate mousse?
“Is there such a thing as chocolate-mousse gelato? That’s what
