the beach and sort of ... I went into a beach
house that I often write in, and started writing
on synths and drums, and just sort of tripping
out a bit and wrote that song. When I say it’s
the first time I’ve written a complete song, it
means the lyrics were all completed as well
(by me) for her. I wasn’t sure if she would be
that into it but she really liked the song so it
was a chance for her to just sing, and she sang
it so beautifully - it was amazing! I’m really
glad you mentioned it, a lot of people seem
to love that tune and it is pretty spacey and
kinda trippy … I think largely because it was
written on synths.”

Kram breaks it down for us as we go a little
deeper into the lyrical nature of the record.
"The ascending and descending progressions
come very much from a keyboard. I probably
wouldn’t have written that song if I was writing
it on guitar. I had to go back to learn it on
guitar to do the acoustic stuff at the start, but
yeah she ... her singing on it is outer-worldly, it’s
pretty amazing.
“Throughout the record there’s this sort of lyrical
interplay between her character and mine,
so if you listen to the lyrics of Straight Through
The Sun, and then you listen to the lyrics of
Supersonic, it’s seems like she’s singing about
her singing on it is
outer-worldly, it’s pretty
amazing
