I was
meeting
a
tribal man in the forest
and he was showing me his
friend who was a Golden Orb spider. I’m
never game to touch one because they
do bite and occasionally nausea and
dizziness can occur after a bite. But he
was telling me ‘don’t be afraid because
it will know that (the fear) and the trust is
broken’. So he put the spider on my hand
and I was holding this dangerous spider,
but before I knew it my nerves were gone.
He taught me if you trust the animal, the
animal will trust you. So every animal I film
or work with I have that repeated in my
head. It was a valuable lesson learnt.”
