The electrically vivid tones of aqua, emerald and crystal blue are
unique to the place given the angle of the sun and the direction
of the wave. The sight and sound inside a Kirra freight train is
like nothing else on this planet. Worth protecting? Kirra Point is
still under great threat from a proposed north Kirra cruise ship
terminal project that would land a massive breakwall and
shipping port almost on top of the break. Add to this the
constant sand pumping and groyne management issues
as well as overcrowding and population blow out, and
she still has a long way to go before maintaining a stable
place as a treasured, free and open world-class point
