Lion's Roar August 2019 Back-to-School Newsletter

August 2019, Back-to-School Newsletter The Cornerstone Christian School 236 Main Street, Manchester, CT 06042 www.TheCornerstoneChristianSchool.com T: 860-643-0792 Welcome to 2019-2020! from the Head of School We are just about ready to begin the 2019-2020 school year! This annual back-to-school newsletter is designed to help parents and students make some final preparations to be ready for an exciting year ahead. Please give us a call, email us, or stop by the school office if you have any questions. We want everyone to start the year feeling strong, confident, and ready! Please note that there are several very important pieces of information and associated deadlines contained within this newsletter that you will not want to miss. All students (new and returning) should have already received their supply lists (elementary students, middle school students, and high school math students) and their course schedules (available to middle and high school students through Sycamore). If you did not, they are also available through the CCS app (within the “Parents” button). All new CCS parents should have received an email with login credentials to begin accessing our school’s secure web portal referred to as Sycamore School. Please be sure to log in as soon as possible! All families should have already received a couple of emails during the summer months with updates and reminders. If you did not receive those emails, please contact the school office at 860-643-0792 to confirm that we have your most up-to-date email address in our system. If you have not yet downloaded our free CCS app to your smartphone, please download that as soon as possible. The app provides the most convenient forms of communication possible (between home and school) along with a multitude of helpful school resources right at your fingertips. You will also use the school’s app to update your contact preferences with School Messenger, the means by which we make school-wide phone calls throughout the school year about snow days, late openings, and other types of emergency notifications. It will soon be time to update those preferences, so you will want to have the app installed and ready to go! Please consider joining us for our special back-to-school events starting with our Back-to-School Picnic & Fellowship on Saturday, August 24. See inside for more details about these events designed to help make the start of the new school year a successful one! We can hardly wait to begin the new year with our annual First Day of School Assembly on Wednesday, August 28. --Tonya Snyder, Head of School Table of Contents 2019-2020 Theme 2 New Faculty & Staff 2 Back-to-School Night Events 3 First Day of School Celebrations 4 Ready for School Checklist 4 CCS Communication 5 Athletics Program 6 K-12 Dress Code Policy 6 P.E.
