Supported by Variety Bash sponsor Seeley International, the coaches give students direct access to their broader community. Power of trust Gold Coast woman Maureen Burns has learned to swim thanks to assistance from FSG Australia’s Nerang Hub. Maureen, who has cerebral palsy, was afraid of the water, but FSG staff helped her overcome her fear so that she now enjoys group swimming every Tuesday at the Southport pools. The gala also celebrates Minda’s 120-year anniversary, taking a step back in time to the era of poodle skirts, saddle shoes, bowling shirts and letterman jackets. www.mindainc.com.au/ rockcarnival 29 World Scleroderma Day Scleroderma Australia will be celebrating World Scleroderma Day on June 29. The day is about raising awareness of this connective tissue autoimmune disease which affects up to 5000 Australians. www.sclerodermaaustralia. com.au South Australia recently hosted the Special Olympics Australia National Games which ran from April 16 to 20.
