Ask any winemaker in the Margaret River region and they will tell you – a glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away ! The first vines were only planted around 50 years ago but ideal growing environments have resulted in Margaret River becoming one of the world ’ s best wine regions .
There are many excellent wineries to explore , each with its own particular style . Depending on your tastes and preferences , you could choose to indulge in vintages from one of the bigger estates such as Voyager , Leewan or Xanadu . Alternatively , you might prefer the smaller boutique wineries such as Brown Hill , Becketts Flat or Island Brook . Many are wheelchair friendly but it ’ s best to do some research or call ahead to ensure you have adequate access .
