Adelaide-based disAbility Living has been assisting people with disabilities for more than 34 years .
The organisation provides long and short-term accommodation and lifestyle supports for adults and
children with physical , neurological and intellectual disability as well as acquired brain injury . Short to medium term transitional accommodation is also available . Managing Director , Matt Collins said they have established houses that provide a homely environment close to public transport , shops , allied health facilities and community activities .
“ We also support people living in their own homes , either as an individual or in shared living arrangements ,” he said .
“ We use a person-centred approach to assist each person to plan their daily living activities , based on their identified dreams , aspirations and plans for the future .” Mr Collins said that research has shown that using respite benefits both people with disability and their carers .
