H . E . Dr . Al Nuaimi said : “ This agreement will enhance the UAE ’ s competitiveness and is part of our bid to make the country one of the world ’ s vital maritime hubs . It will promote the maritime licensing system to significantly develop the local maritime transportation sector which plays an essential role in the UAE ’ s economic growth and diversification . The agreement reflects the importance of fostering strategic cooperation between federal government and local governments as part of the efforts to achieving the wise vision of the leadership to transform the country into one of the world ’ s most developed nations .”
H . E . Bin Sulayem also underscored that the MoU with the Federal Transport Authority - Land & Maritime is a major step forward in the government integration process . H . E . added that the agreement will pave the way for more developed maritime licensing mechanisms as well as higher levels of efficiency , competitiveness , performance , and safety . He noted as well that it will serve as a holistic framework for ensuring the integration of all the aspects of maritime safety , secure navigation , and operational efficiency , which will turn Dubai and the UAE into one of the world ’ s most advanced , competitive , and inclusive maritime and logistical destinations in line with the vision and directives of the country ’ s wise leaders .
The DMCA President said : “ We are confident that our bilateral cooperation will yield positive results according to local and international guidelines . All stakeholders will benefit from the advanced legislative structure and modern infrastructure designed to enhance the economic role of the local maritime cluster and increase its contributions towards making the country one of the world ’ s leading transportation , trade , maritime freight , and logistics hubs .”
To further promote their partnership , both parties have agreed to jointly organize and facilitate the registration and licensing of marine crafts in Dubai by establishing a single window system for maritime licensing handled by DMCA . This will guarantee the seamless management of maritime operations according to the highest occupational safety standards , best environmental practices , and local and international resolutions . The two sides also expressed their commitment to overcome all obstacles to the implementation of Cabinet Resolution No . 52 of 2006 of the Federal Transport Authority - Land and Maritime and Resolution No . 11 of 2010 on marine crafts licensing and regulations in Dubai . This commitment will serve common interests and aspirations pursuant to existing legislations .
H . E . Abdullah Salem Al Kathiri said : “ We will closely coordinate with the DMCA , which has a proven track record of promoting maritime safety and competitiveness in the world maritime map . Our agreement will reinforce mutual aspirations and our vision in the Federal Transport Authority of building a secure and leading maritime transportation to achieve sustainable development .” For his part , Ali said : “ This
