Welcome to our first ever February edition of Link ! Up until now we ’ ve published five times per year but with readers and advertisers both complaining about the long wait between the December and April editions , we decided to ramp up production to six magazines per year . We ’ re also delighted to unveil a new look for our cover in 2017 – let us know what you think .
We ’ ve pulled out the big guns for this year ’ s first edition with acting superstar Peter Dinklage gracing our cover . Game of Thrones fans will know Peter for his Emmy award-winning role as Tyrion Lannister – a role that has not only made his career but challenged stereotypes of short-statured actors . It was interesting to discover that Peter turned down roles early in his career that typecast him due to his size , preferring to wait for characters that focused on his acting ability , rather than his physical appearance .
In this edition we also take to the skies with our resident entertainment reporter Marlena Katene who recently became the first person with cerebral palsy to base-jump . We also discover why it ’ s important for carers to talk about the tough times , and our travel pages take us to Canada . Our feature certainly proves there is no place like home , while Assistant Minister for Disability Jane Prentice MP tells us what the federal government is doing to help more people with disability find work .
