Sunnyfield’s indoor sports day December 2018 Sunnyfield Disability Services hosted its fifth 1 annual indoor sports day at the Tamworth Sports Dome Centre for more than 100 people with disability. The sports day is an annual highlight for participants like Gary (pictured), who travel from as far afield as Narrabri, Gunnedah, Armidale, Inverell and Glen Innes. Sounds & Vibes Sounds & Vibes is an all ages music festival being held at the Adelaide Showgrounds, celebrating International Day of People with Disability. The accessible, outdoor music festival will feature bands, DJs, silent discos, chill out zones, elevated viewing platforms, Auslan interpreters, guide and assistance dog friendly areas, and more. International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) IDPWD is a United Nations- sanctioned day that is celebrated internationally. It aims to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions. Events are being held nationwide. 3 8 Christmas Carols & Markets The Minda and BankSA Christmas Carols and Markets are back with plenty of entertainment for the whole family, including Adelaide’s best food trucks, amusements, carols and Santa! Forty stall holders will be selling a range of gifts, homewares, candles, clothing, jewellery and more. 9 Soar and Roar Festival The Special Olympics Australia Soar & Roar Festival provides people with intellectual disability with the opportunity to experience the thrill of a ride in a luxury car. Luxury cars and motorbikes from around New South Wales will make their way to Sydney Motorsport Park to celebrate Special Olympics athletes, their families and support network – and raise much needed funds.
