NALJA Honorary
Member Awarded
The North American Limousin
Junior Association is pleased to
present the Honorary Member
award to Dean and Beverly
Summerbell. The award was
given at the awards ceremony
of the 2018 National Junior
Limousin Show & Congress.
This couple truly embodies
that idea of dedication to the
Limousin breed. They travel
around 80,000 miles per year to
attend shows, sales, meeting,
and other Limousin related
events. They even travel to

weddings, graduations and more
events to support the Limousin
breeders. They chronicle
their travels in the Heartbeat
Magazine in their columns
“Covering Ground” and “On
the Road Again.” Since starting
there in August of 2001, they
have made major changes in the
magazine as executive secretary.
Lengthening the magazine,
changing the paper form to
glossy, and from black and white
to color. They remember the
history of the breed and the
Heartland Limousin Association
with the column “Back in Time.”
They are always behind a camera
documenting the activities
of the Heartland Limousin
Association and the breed.
Dean and Beverley celebrated
their 53rd wedding
anniversary on April 11 of
this year. Congratulations!
Sadly, they were unable
to attend this year’s Junior
Nationals due to complications
with Dean’s knee surgery and we
all wish him a speedy recovery.
