New NALJA Officers Elected
On Saturday, July 14, 2018,
applicants interviewed for
three open positions on the
NALJA board. They spoke
about their desire to be on the
board, their biggest influences
in life, and their future goals.
The new officers and board
members for the 2018-2019
year were named during the
awards ceremony held on July
20, 2018 in Denver, Colo.
Elected to lead NALJA as
president for the upcoming
year is Randa Taylor. Randa is
the daughter of Suzanne Taylor
of Decatur, Texas. She will
continue to attend Texas A&M
this fall to pursue her degree in
animal science and then go into
pediatric nursing. Randa will be
serving her third year on the
NALJA board, moving up from
secretary the year previous.
Dominic Ruppert, Witt, Ill.,
was selected to serve as the
vice president for the 2018-
2019 year. Dominic is the son
of Chad and Andrea Ruppert.
He is attending Lincoln Land
Community College and plans
to return home after receiving
his degree to continue growing
his family’s herd. This will be
his second year serving on
the executive committee.
Serving as the 2018-2019 NALJA
secretary is Hannah Ziegler.
She is the daughter of Chris
Ziegler of Bloomville, Ohio.
Hannah plans to continue her
involvement in the agriculture
industry by majoring in
animal science and agriculture
communications. This will be
her second year on the NALJA
