Medal of Excellence Winners Named
The NALF Medal of Excellence (MOE) program
strives to provide recognition on the regional
and national level to bulls and females exhibited
in designated MOE shows. The program
also recognizes the sires and dams of cattle
presented in the show rings across the nation. 2017 Level I MOE Shows
The 2017 MOE season runs on a calendar
basis, beginning in January with the
National Western Stock Show in Denver
and ending December 31, 2017. • American Royal
State and regional Limousin association may
petition NALF for approval of MOE shows in their
state or area. The sponsoring state or regional
association will be held responsible for checking
in cattle at the show and reporting results
(including registration numbers) to NALF.
Beginning in 2009, NALD began providing EPDs
for the judges to use at the Level I MOE shows.
To receive MOE points, all cattle must have the
following performance data submitted and
on file at NALF by December 1 of each year:

• Southeast Summer Classic
• All American Limousin Futurity
• NAILE

• Weaning weight (all bulls and heifers) • San Antonio Livestock Exposition
• Yearling weight (bulls and
heifers over 400 days old) • Dixie National
• Scrotal (bulls over 12 months old) • California State Fair
• Pregnancy test (females older
than 600 days at season’s end)
• Pennsylvania State Fair
• Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
• Indiana State Fair
• Illinois State Fair
• Appalachian Fair
• Breeding soundness exam and
semen test (bulls older than 400 days) • Oregon State Fair
