Welcome Kelsey Steinkraus NALF Ad Designer Kelsey grew up on a farm in southwest Nebraska and has always had a love for animals, livestock and anything that had to do with agriculture. Her own herd started with two bottle calves, “Bess” and “Butterfly,” when she was four-years-old and gradually grew from there. At 12-years-old, Kelsey became involved with the American Junior Maine-Anjou association and eventually served a four-year term on their junior board of directors, a one-year term as their national princess and a two-year term as a junior board advisor. She still assists in planning events and judging contests for their junior national heifer show whenever it is held in Grand Island, NE. Kelsey’s involvement with the Maine-Anjou association sparked her love of breed associations and she went on to intern with Shorthorn Country in Omaha while she was attending the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Kelsey was able to combine her love of cattle, graphic design and editorial writing. She graduated with a degree in Agriculture Communications. Since then, she has worked for Show Circuit and Livestock Plus, Inc., and has several freelance clients for whom she designs catalogs, web-sites, ads, flyers, logos and banners. Kelsey works with many different breeders in many different associations throughout her design work. Currently, Kelsey and her husband own a small (50 head), mixed herd of Maine-Anjou, Angus, SimAngus and Club Calf bred cows, which they expand by a few head each year. “It’s so nice to have something we can do together and both enjoy in addition to our careers,” states Kelsey. NALF strives to offer creative and appealing ads to our Limousin breeders and is excited to welcome Kelsey to the Limousin team!
