Looking Up New EPDs for Commercial Bull Buyers
The NALF-DigitalBeef platform makes it easy for
commercial bull buyers to look up new EPDs.
This makes it faster and easier to become familiar
with a bull’s information before buying.
The Animal Search feature on the NALF-DigitalBeef
allows you to quickly look up information on the animal’s
pedigree, EPDs, performance data, ownership, and more.
There are two ways to look up pedigrees and EPDs for
animals in the NALF database: 1) Searching by certain EPD
criteria 2) Searching by Animal. Both can be accessed
either from clicking the “Animal Search” box at the top of
the NALF home page (Image 1) or by going directly to
the animals search features at limousin.digitalbeef.com.
Searching by EPD Criteria (Image 2):
• First you need to decide the minimum and/
or maximum level of EPDs and accuracy
that meet your breeding objective.
• Next, enter those numbers into the boxes
for the EPDs that are important to you.
• Toward the bottom of the search box, you can chose
to receive males, females or both in your search
results, select the appropriate gender,
and then click “search.”
• All the registered animals that match your
criteria will pop up as your search results.
• If you click the registration number (highlighted in
red) you will be taken to the animal’s page where you
can view a variety of information including; pedigree,
EPDs, accuracies, and rankings for a variety of traits.
