From the Field
spring Coleman Limousin in Montana and Peterson’s L7 Bar
Limousin in South Dakota held their 40th annual sales.
As we celebrate all the breed’s accomplishments, we
need to draw from our past and once again rededicate
ourselves to promoting Limousin and Lim-Flex genetics.
The cattle have changed and been adapted to the North
American market over the past 50 years. Within the
breed we know our cattle are much improved in terms
of disposition, fertility, performance, and marbling.
Now, our challenge is to let the rest of beef industry
know how much the cattle have improved. I encourage
you to host a field day or open house, an FFA or 4-H
judging workout or contest. Get involved with your
local and state cattlemen’s organizations. I believe
in the old saying that “seeing is believing.”
If we continue to improve our cattle and promote
them to the best of our ability, I’m confident the next
50 years will be as rewarding as the first 50! I
