Prices stayed near or above the 2016 year, which was a very positive sign for the cattle industry as we headed into the 2018 calendar year. Demand for Limousin and Lim-Flex® bulls and females remains strong as we have seen an increase in private treaty sales. The following numbers and high-seller’s list represent the 2017 Limousin Breed Market Summary, an annual report compiled by LIMOUSIN TODAY. The data and information used to compile this report have been taken from all the sale reports submitted to the magazine and does not include private treaty sales or sales not reported to LIMOUSIN TODAY. The 2016 calendar year saw a slightly lower than exceptional averages than the 2015 year and yet another slight decrease from 2016 to 2017. The 2017 year saw a bull sale average decrease of 16.1% and a 1.66% sale average increase for females. A total of 1,851.2 Limousin, Lim-Flex, and fullblood bulls were sold in 2017 for an average of $3,811. The females averaged $3,607 on 921.5 head sold.
