From the Field
Grand Times In Grand Island
By Andy Rest, NALF regional manager
Like most people that attended
the National Junior Limousin
Show and Congress, I left Grand
Island, Nebraska feeling very
positive about the direction
of our breed and the youth
that are involved in it.
It is really inspiring to see
two and three generations
of a family working together
to accomplish their goal of
attending the show and then
trying to win a class. Of course,
many times first place doesn’t
happen, but the life lessons
learned are invaluable. To see
these young people grow and
develop into quality individuals
is one of the most rewarding
parts of being involved with the
Limousin breed. The work ethic
and leadership qualities of these
young people ensure a bright
future, not only for the breed,
but our nation.
The quality of the cattle
at this year’s show was
outstanding. Class after class,
the judges would comment
on the quality that was found.
Congratulations to all the class
winners, division and reserve
division champions, and grand
and reserve champions.
The showmanship contests
might have been even more
competitive than the cattle
shows. The desire to excel by
the showman in each division
