Junior Limousin Board Members Selected
On Saturday, July 1 at the 2017
National Junior Limousin Show
and Congress, eight applicants
interviewed for five open
positions on the North American
Limousin Junior Association
board of directors. They spoke
about their desire to be on the
board, their biggest influences
in life, and their future goals.

of the Limousin breed,” said

Limousin Foundation director of
activities and NALJA staff advisor.

directors and her second term
on the executive committee.
Serving as her second term on
the NALJA board of directors,
Randa Taylor was elected
secretary. Randa is the daughter
of Suzanne Taylor of Decatur,
Texas. She plans to attend Texas
A&M this fall to pursue her
degree in animal science and
then go into pediatric nursing.
Dominic Ruppert, Witt, Ill., was
selected to serve as treasurer
for the 2017-2018 year. Dominic
is the son of Chad and Andrea
Ruppert. He is attending Lincoln
Land Community College and
plans to return home after
receiving his degree to continue
growing his family’s herd. This
will be his first year serving on
the executive committee.
Rounding out the NALJA
executive committee is Ex-Officio
Anna Johnson from Sebeka,
Minn. The daughter of Barbara
and Russell Johnson, Anna is
the retiring NALJA president.
She is double majoring in
agronomy and agriculture
The new officers and board
members for the 2017-2018 year
were named during the awards
ceremony held on July 7, 2017
in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Elected to lead NALJA as
president for the upcoming
year is Ethan Freund, Elizabeth,
Colo. He is the son of Joey and
Colleen Freund of Running
Creek Ranch. Ethan is currently
attending Oklahoma State
University majoring in agriculture
business and will be serving
his fourth year on the NALJA
board, moving up from vice-
president the year previous.
Serving as the 2017-2018 NALJA
vice president is Callie Hicks. She
is the daughter of James and
Marci Hicks from Midway, Ky.
Callie is an agriculture education
and animal science major at the
University of Kentucky. This will
