A New Thing

“See I am doing a new thing! Now it
springs up; do you not perceive it? I am
making a way in the wilderness and
streams in the wasteland!” - Isaiah 43:19
After making it through the wilderness called
winter, spring is a time of renewal. We see it in the
promise of a new calf crop and green grass. We see
it in warmer weather, longer days of sunshine and
the smell of a new growing season in the air. It is
certainly a welcome sight for all of us in agriculture.
For the Limi Boosters, spring is the season
we are making plans for the Limousin Junior
National Show & Congress. We are pleased to be
able to offer college scholarships, state grants
and host the beef cook-off again this year. The
applications can be found under the Limi Boosters
tab on the NALF website at www.nalf.org.

For the beef cook-off contest this year, we need
the teams turned in by May 15, as in the past.
However, you can turn your recipe into me
anytime prior to June 20. We realize many of
you do not have your field day or state planning
meeting by mid-May, so we want to give you
some extra time to decide on your recipe. The
cook-off contest is always a good time, so we are
hoping lots of state teams participate this year!
Finally, we encourage every state to donate a
basket or silent auction item to help us raise
funds for our scholarship program. We are
always amazed by your creativity and generosity,
so thank you in advance for your support.
Whatever challenges you have experienced
through the winter months, I hope you will
join me in believing in a new thing as we roll
into springtime. Be encouraged and let us go
forth learning from the past but expecting a
new work as we cheer on our energetic junior
members through the spring and summer show
seasons. We are looking forward to seeing you
all June 29-July 5 in Springfield, Mo., for the
“Limousin, A League of Their Own” event! I
