Icarus VI by Malcolm West

Topsy-Turvy Hare by Christine Baxter

With hares strangely welcomed into the new vegetable garden and dogs sunning themselves by a bench, the experience may be described as somewhat surreal, but whether humourous or thought-provoking, classical or abstract it is always a pleasure.

With a week to go, we have already sold over 30 pieces, large and small and there are still orders to be completed.

So whilst not the higher sales of last year, we have still made our presence felt and put a lot of smiles on faces.

It seems that the hot weather and some obscure sporting event proved too much for some, as visitor numbers were down on the previous two years, but sales have remained slow and steady and many visitors and purchasers returning specifically to see the trail.

After three years, I have decided to take a break and concentrate on my own projects, so if any of you out there fancy having a go at managing Hyde Hall, I can confirm it will be a rewarding and educational experience, not to mention the opportunity to spend time in these magnificent gardens for free.

Thanks to everyone for their support of the last three years.
