LIFT Annual Report 2014: What Matters Most | Page 11

LIFT Impact Report 2014 “All along, you’ve been there for me. It’s not just the plans. It’s also empathy.” Housing was the first thing. Then it was getting the English-language skills I needed. And daycare for my son. You helped with that, too. Now it’s getting more hours at work. All along, you’ve been there for me. It’s not just the plans. It’s also empathy. You decided to keep the job you have until you find something better. And I know you will because you’re one of the most determined and brave people I’ve ever met. Whatever it is you need to do, you’ll figure out a way to do it. Eventually, I want to get my bachelor’s degree and then move back home and get a job with a financial company. What about you? What do you want to do when you graduate? LIFT has completely changed the way I look at my future. I see myself in a career that has something to do with economic justice, education, or urban development. REAL STORIES 11
