LIFT Annual Report 2013: Building Strong Foundations | Page 9

$8.2M $10M raised to date for our Growth Capital Campaign! (See page 31 to learn how you can become an investor.) In fiscal year 2013, we served nearly 12,500 members with over 25% of those members meeting with us three or more times. We increased capacity by increasing the number of member workstations, and across the country, our volunteer advocates increased the number of hours they dedicate to member service. We opened our first office on the West Coast in Los Angeles and were operating at capacity in less than six months – and recently, we expanded our operation to serve even more Angelenos. To support this growth, we grew our fundraising by 50% and secured additional commitments toward our Growth Capital campaign. We spent much of 2013 refining our new case management system, LIFT Link, in order to make it more user-friendly for our volunteer advocates and to ensure we can capture the data we need to evaluate our impact. We also designed and launched a pilot of Constituent Voice, a pioneering method for capturing member feedback, in Philadelphia and Chicago. We introduced LIFT’s new messages about our work; expanded LIFTopolis, our unique simulation of the public and private social services system; and our CEO Kirsten Lodal shared our vision with policymakers, business leaders, and philanthropists at conferences hosted by the Milken Institute, the Points of Light Foundation, and the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy. To ensure we can achieve the goals laid out in our five-year plan, we staffed up across the country with new program, development, and communications staff. We hired our first Executive Director in New York, Cindy Menz-Erb, and our first Chief Program Officer, Maria Peña.
