Meaning they are recognizing on a subconscious level that you are not fully present in the message you ’ re delivering . Anyone can take information and plug it into a regurgitated 5 step formula . Some might even have reasonable success doing that , but it won ’ t last . When you show up in business , you absolutely need to show up as yourself .
Consider the success tips and tricks , and if you can modify them to work in your unique methods on entrepreneurship , great ! But if it ’ s like putting a square peg into a round hole , no matter how much you force it , it won ’ t fit right . This is what your audience picks up on and is why you ’ re not connecting the way you feel you should . It ’ s why we see so many people make it online , light up the sky , and then disappear just as quickly what seems like moments later .
When I lost my uniqueness in business , I pulled back and left the scene momentarily . My time away taught me that staying power in business is different from burning brightly and then dying out . It comes from being open , honest and in full integrity with who you are .
What does that mean , showing up with integrity or authenticity ? It means : Engaging as you would with a good friend - swear words , jokes , no frills , and all . Disregarding the opinions of others . Commit to communicating your truth no matter who or what is around . Value yourself and what you offer without allowing outside influence . Working in a way that feels good to you and is beneficial to others . If you work better in jeans and a tshirt , don ’ t put on slacks and a blouse to work . If you ’ re able to deliver your goods while maintaining your ideal level of comfort , DO IT .

I know how tempting it can be to peer around the curtain and see what others are doing to bring in success . Look , but don ’ t linger too long . It ’ s the staring that becomes an issue , when the desire to emulate begins , one you ’ re one step away from copying too much of someone else . During my time away , I developed a practice to ensure I keep in touch with me and what makes my business unique .
Every morning , I find time to get still and drop into my heart space . There , I ask what is in my heart today , what feels pertinent , wants to be shared and made known ? I ask to be connected to the core of me . Then , I go on with my day , knowing that my marketing , coaching , or any other activity comes from deep within me , not an outside source .
Now , I show up each day as myself , not me hiding beneath pieces of other people . To last in business , you cannot lose what makes you unique . So , it ’ s time to toss the rules and feel into what works best for YOU ( everything else will follow ).
