“LEONARDO, the CHEETAH want to be an explorer” Leonardo, a little cheetah, was born into a valiant and decorated cheetah family. Both his grandfather had been great racing champions, and the father continued to honor the family and breed he belonged to. The den, where Leonardo lived with his family, had a wall where there were so many medals. Medals of all shapes and sizes. Leonardo knew he was different from his parents and relatives and for this reason he was sorry to give a big disappointment to his father, who had great expectations about his future. He was aware that he belonged to the breed of the fastest animals in the world as a birthright, but he did not like to run. The little Leonardo committed himself to running like all his other relatives, but if he saw a butterfly as he ran he suddenly stopped to observe the colours or to feel the perfume of the flower on which he lay. It was so much his attraction that he slowed down to smell and laid down on the ground with his nose up. He forgot where he should go, the reason why he was running. The world around him was so beautiful that he could not resist. And then ... in the evening when he was asleep, he remembered all the beautiful things he had seen during the day and, dreaming, he lived so many adventures as he fell asleep beside his mother. He dreamed and dreamed! In his dreams he saw the wonderful things he had seen in the savannah: the colours of the butterflies, the flight of bees and birds, the high sun in the sky, the scented lawn, the little insects populating the fresh dew grass.
