Our busy library:
2015/2016 in numbers
● Over 25 000 books, magazines, BDs and audiovisual
materials items were circulated to students and staff
this school year—a new record!
● Over 6000 textbooks were organized, registered and distributed to
collège
and
lycée
students in
September—and collected, registered and organized their return at the end of the year. The library also
arranged for the distribution of 700 sample textbooks (spécimens) to our secondary teachers.
● Over 100 classes were taught by library staff on research skills and bibliographic instruction, for all
grade levels in collège and lycée. Library orientation, advanced research strategies for specific topics,
academic honesty, recommended reading and

sessions made up the bulk of these
classes.
● The library maintained the books, website and support system for 16 classes to participate in almost

Drop Everything and Read
sessions. Library staff supervised over 120 periods of DEAR, and
organized special DEAR classes, including 8 sessions of
“Drop everything and Read–in Greek!”
● The library welcomed 17 literary VIPs at our exceptional literary festival in April. Twentyseven classes
participated in Litfest presentations featuring music, fine art, and literature. Ten fabulous student
submissions were submitted to our annual BD contest with over 100 euros in prizes awarded to
participants and winners.
● Four exceptional issues of
Bilingues et Artistes
and
Le Bilingue
were published this year, with the
library providing the staff support to craft, proofread and publish the student press.
● Librarians hosted over 20 “Coup de Cœur” Reading Club sessions, and 12 sessions of the allnew Club
de lecture de philosophie. Dozens of students enjoyed these twiceweekly lunchtime programs in the
library reading room.
