LIBERTY LEGAL JOURNAL Spring/Summer 2016 | Page 3

from THE EDITOR The Liberty Legal Journal is a student-run publication that provides an academic platform for legal analysis by students, alumni, and faculty. It furthers the mission of Liberty University and the vision of its founder, the late Jerry Falwell Sr., which is continued and strengthened by his son, President Jerry Falwell Jr. All articles are written from a Christian perspective, but in reading them, you will notice great diversity of thought and a wide range of opinions. You may not agree with the nuances of each writer’s position, nor is that the goal. The Journal is a platform for intellectual debate. Its purpose is to stimulate legal discussion by analyzing current issues pending before the Court or those that could potentially be addressed or revisited in the future. From the certification requirement in the False Claims Act to double standards in child pornography law to the corporate inversion craze, this edition addresses a wide variety of hot-button legal issues. On behalf of the editorial board, I would like to thank our faculty advisors, Judge Paul Spinden and Professor Rodney Chrisman, for years of continued support. The Law School has recently begun a new era, under the leadership of Dean B. Keith Faulkner, who joined the school this past year. Dean Faulkner brings with him the pursuit for exceptionalism, the same idea that made America great. We are honored to be a part of that vision. I invite you to read this collection of articles written by students, professors, and alumni. In these troubled times of judicial activism, where faithful Christians are mocked as extremists by the intolerant so-called elites, may reason, facts, and accountability lead us back to truth.
