Let’s Get Sketchy November 2013, Issue 1 Why Sketches? Sketches come in various sizes, from 12 x 12 layouts, 8.5 x 11 layouts, 6 x 6, etc… You have layout sketches as well as card sketches. Scrapbook sketches make life SO much easier, and they are a great timesaver. What is a sketch? A sketch is like a map/guide that you follow to create your page. A scrapbooking sketch simply suggests a guide on the placement of photos, title, journaling and embellishments for your layout. However, it does not mean that it's set in stone. Depending on the photos you want to use, and the scrap supplies you have on hand, you may choose to alter the sketch to fit your needs. You can even make your own changes to add variations to the scrapbook layout sketches. You don’t have to stick to the sketch stitch for stitch and paper for paper. I love using sketches, hence the creation of Let’s Get Sketchy. Sketches help me to reduce time in creating and planning my page. All I have to do is to select an appropriate sketch, then pick out my photos, papers and embellishments and scrap accordingly to the sketch. So much easier than starting from scratch! Sketches are a wonderful resource for both beginners and seasoned scrapbookers alike. So, whether you are just starting out in this glorious 88
