T O K I C K O F F 2 0 1 6 , here’s a list of 16 things you and your family can do to get
out of the house and keep active during these short winter days, and before you
know it the days will start getting longer and we’ll be well on our way to summer.
1
There is no better way to
spend a snowy weekend
afternoon than slipping
and sliding down
Lethbridge’s Sugar Bowl.
Head over with your
toboggans and crazy
carpets, and don’t forget
to take along some hot
chocolate!
2
It’s time to lace up your
skates and head out to
one of our local arenas
for public skating. For
locations and times visit
lethbridge.ca and click
the “Things To Do” tab. If
conditions are right you
might even be able to take
in some outdoor skating
on one of our local lakes.
However, be sure to check
the City of Lethbridge
website for conditions
before stepping out onto
any outdoor ice.

Four-legged family
members need their
exercise in the winter
months too. Bundle up
with Fido and head out
for a walk on one of our
local trails. Just make sure
to wash off those little
paws when you get back
home to remove any salt
or ice-melting chemicals,
or better yet pick up some
stylish booties for your best
friend!

What’s winter without
hitting the slopes? Locally
we’ve got two great
hills located less than
two hours away: Castle
Mountain Resort and Pass
Powderkeg. The Canadian
Ski Council is also offering
its SnowPass again this
winter, which means kids in
Grades 4 and 5 can ski for
less. Visit snowpass.ca for
details.
