The Lester Prairie Public Swimming Pool offers a unique opportunity to cool off in the summer,
being the only public pool in the surrounding area.
RECREATION
Lester Prairie offers many choices for outdoor
recreation. Any questions should be directed

Sunrise Nature Park
Where Located on the east side of Lester
Prairie. The main
m ain parking lot entrance is near
McLeod County Road 9.
Features A peaceful 50-acre setting with
nearly two miles of trails. Includes a variety
of prairie grasses, such as Indian grass, switch
g ras s, bl uestem, Canada w i l d r ye, and
wheatgrass. The park is open to the public,
but no motorized vehicles are allowed.
Central Square Park
Where Located at the intersection of Central
Avenue and Juniper Street in downtown Lester
Prairie.
Features A veterans memorial with names of
many people who served in the military and
have a connection to Lester Prairie, including
those who served in the National Guard or
Reserve during peacetime. Also includes
a gazebo, walkways, benches, lighting,
landscaping, and a message board advertising
community events.
Prairie Ridge Park
Where Located in the Prairie Ridge
development on the east side of the city.

2nd Ave S. Park
Where Located on the south side of Second
Avenue South near Pine Street South.
Features A tennis court, basketball court,
sand volleyball court, nine-hole fl ying disc golf

one lighted softball/football field (Bulldog
Field), two Little League fi elds, one T-ball fi eld,
playground equipment, grills, picnic shelters,
and restrooms. To rent the large shelter, call

Public swimming pool
Where The Lester Prairie public pool is
located in Lester Prairie City Park on the south
side of Second Avenue South near Pine Street
South.
Features Water slide, a diving board, kiddie
pool, and waterworks. A additional water slide
was installed in 2017.
Lessons Red Cross swimming lessons are
offered in the summer. Children must be
at least 5 years old and have completed
kindergarten. Registration for sessions should
be made early, because classes fi ll up quickly.

When The pool opens in June as soon as
school lets out, and closes for the year in late
