The new Lesser Slave River website was launched close to a year ago. Most would agree that — thanks to this new and
improved platform — municipal news, events, documents and other vital MD content have never been more accessible.
In addition to the new website, the MD has strengthened its social media presence in an effort to engage residents in
a two-way conversation. One new addition to the MD’s social media program is its Instagram account.
Instagram has quickly become the most popular photo-sharing portal on the Internet. Anyone with a smartphone can
register for free with Instagram and start snapping and sharing. One of the great features of Instagram is its us e of
hashtags to make photos more findable. The official hashtag for Lesser Slave River is #ExploreLSR. Type this hashtag
into your Instagram app and you’ll see every Instagram picture and description ever recorded by the MD. Don’t have
Instagram? Just visit the MD website at mdlsr.ca, where you can see the latest Instagram pics right on the Home Page.
The MD is always on the lookout for any Instagram pics with the #ExploreLSR hashtag. So if you’re out and about
and take a great Instagram pic somewhere in the Lesser Slave River region, just add the #ExploreLSR hashtag before
you post. We’ll find it and repost it, and it will then be added to the MD’s Instagram feed for everyone to see! The MD’s
#ExploreLSR Instagram channel is just one more medium we’re using to broadcast the beauty and diversity of our
region to the world at large. Check it out today!
