During the Lenten season we spend time in prayer considering
how God would have us give, both of our finances and our time.
Over the last few years we have taken this season to evaluate
pledging to the Grace Beyond project.
Grace Beyond is a journey of faith that started with a building
project. On paper, it was about renovating our building to
facilitate new ministry opportunities. On a heart level, it
was about God remaking us as a people. He continues to
transform us into followers of Jesus who walk obediently and
give generously, trusting He will be with us along the way
with His abiding presence and faithful provision.
April 2019 marks the end of the pledge period for this
project. We want to both celebrate what God has done
through Grace Beyond, and offer the opportunity for those
who are new to Calvary to consider their role in the project.
This journey started with a call to prayer, church leadership
has consistently asked that each Calvary attendee simply
pray and ask God how He would have us partake. What has
obedience to this call looked like for you? As we’ve been
reminded again and again in Isaiah, God is merciful and
just. If you have yet to obey, know that He is longing to
be gracious to you. This Lenten season may in fact be an
opportunity for you to renew your commitment to Him, to
step into what He asks of you and sacrifice accordingly.
We are not the same church we’ve always been. God is doing
a new thing here. Will you join us on this journey? This is a
season to reaffirm your commitment, to consider giving more.
It’s also a chance to take part in what you may have missed.
Ask God if there are ways that you can deepen your giving.
Consider ways that you can express your faith in sacrifice,
following the example of Jesus both in His life and ultimately
in His death.
