To further foster sustainability, the conference will discuss the utility of, and experience with, Budget Scrutiny and Fiscal Responsibility Acts.
The objective is to share experiences in monitoring the implementation of various finance-related acts and ensuring that the legislation is enshrined, particularly with respect to the budget of the whole public sector (covering public bodies and implementation of debt legislation, including the debt of public bodies).

To enhance staff research and capacity development to MPs, the conference will discuss support for conducting a needs assessment of the financial oversight committees, and ways to organize training courses for developing awareness about the roles and responsibilities of the members of the oversight committees and familiarizing MPs with how the comparable committees in OECD countries perform.
