“A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes”
Amber is an eighteen-year-old client of Lena Pope’s
Family Matters Counseling who loves all things Disney
Princesses. When she was adopted as part of the Lena
Pope Holiday Angel program, she requested a dress for
her senior banquet. The wonderful Chapman family who
adopted her offered to make her a custom gown, and
rather than choosing a traditional “Sunday” dress, the idea
was suggested to make her a Cinderella gown (as adult
sizes are hard to come by!) When Amber was presented
with the gown, along with a petticoat, necklace, gloves,
tiara, purse, tights, and slippers, all of her wildest dreams
came true. She wore the dress to school proudly the very
next day. As a matter of fact, she never wanted to take
it off! It was such an amazing gift to Amber — a gift she
never would have been able to get on her own — made
possible by some wonderful donors. They truly made her
dreams come true.
