This is the class for you! Learn how to read a pattern, do advanced stitches, increase work and work in-theround. The planned project will be a round coaster. NEW Introduction to Fused Glass Bengala Dye Learn about the history and cultural significance of this unique, Japanese dye, made from soil. You will use it to color a t-shirt, scarf, shawl or bag. You will experience the entire process from pre-fixing your item to kneading the dye into the material. There will be 12 colors of dye for you to choose from. Have fun experimenting with this new dye and technique. Instructor Chiaki Obrien is one of only two Bengala Dye instructors in the U. S. Materials fee of $7 - $16 depending on the item you choose, payable to instructor in class. You may dye more than one item during class for an additional materials fee. Bring plastic bags to take home your dyed material, a large towel that you don’t mind getting dye on plus a small hand towel. Optional: apron and gloves.
