Twenty-four professionals dedicated to improving the community and
the organizations they serve became the latest graduates of the Elkhart

CHAMBERNEWS
A winning political campaign takes organization, communication
and determination. It takes a special person, then, to lead on
matters of business and community importance. The Greater
Elkhart Chamber again will offer nonpartisan training this year
for prospective candidates and campaign. Throughout the 10-hour
course, experienced campaigners and strategists will describe in
detail what candidates need to keep in mind to be successful. Is
the class helpful? Ask Doug Miller and Curt Nisly, who attended
the October 2013 session and succeeded in the May 2014
primary.

with us.
When success shows itself through continuous improvement, it’s
not difficult to convince folks to keep going. That’s why, fast on
the heels of a well-received inaugural effort, the Michiana Lean
Network has already started planning next year’s Lean Showcase.
More than 175 participants this year heard from difference
makers on Six-Sigma, Kaizen, and other business principles to
cut waste, encourage and value employee input, and potentially
improve profit.
