Once you accept this and know that your mind and emotions are under your stewardship, you can learn how to develop your mind in a way that edifies you and the society at large. Your mind can be in service to you or you can be “out of your mind” or you can “lose your mind.” The choice can be yours. COACHES CORNER Coaches are iconic. They are larger than life. It might be old hat to some of you. It may be as routine as tying (or strapping) your shoe laces. Some of you are new to it and as such are still trying to figure out the best approach. No matter how long you’ve been coaching, either from the sidelines or the stands, there is always room for innovation. Below are a few strategies that you may or may not have already instituted. Either way it’s always good to have good habits reinforced and bad habits slowly eliminated. 1. Sharing leadership roles: Have one of your teammates award the game ball, but you must coach them to say something complimentary to the recipient while handing it over by first speaking to the team about their overall performance. 2.
