DON’T STRIKE OUT!
Striking out is arguably one of the worst things that happens in
baseball. Striking out, for some people, could be worse than a
bad hot dog at the concession stand.
Some spend our entire baseball career trying to avoid this, yet
it still happens. But no matter how talented you are, it’s going
to happen! Remember, the pitcher is there to do his job as well,
otherwise where would be the challenge in all of this?
In baseball, as in life, this is a reoccurring theme. While striking
out in baseball can be traumatic, striking out in life much
worse. To that end, please consider the following:
THE DON’T’S OF STRIKING OUT
Don’t be…
1. S-Shady (if you can’t do it in public don’t do it at all)
2. T-Trouble (worried, upset or disturbed- know your
game)
3. R-Resentful (know who you are and love yourself for who
you are)
4. I-Idle (learn all you can about the game)
5. K-Know it all (stay humble)
6. E-Easy to anger (stay calm, exercise discipline)
7. O-Offensive (don’t go out of your way to make others feel
bad by your words or actions
8. U-Unappreciative (show gratitude and appreciation to
others and your teammates and coaches)
9. T-Throw in the towel (persevere, never, never, never give
up)
