About the submitter of the project in a nutshell:
Society “Jaunatnes demokrātijas skola” (Youth Democracy
School) operates for more than 10 years. Aim of the society
is involvement of young people in the driving of democratic
processes; to help young people be more aware of themselves and their place in these processes, promote their
self-realisation. Every day in Nīca Youth Centre youth from
the society meet with other young people from the rural territory and organise various discussion and thematic evenings
(Coffee with politicians etc.), events (Day of Nīca Youth etc.), as
well as participate in various youth trainings and workshops
both on a local and international scale. During its operation
period Society have organised and implemented various
workshops, conferences, trainings for youth, as well as
participated in different project competitions.
Project description:
Equip the multifunctional space with furniture, technique
and table games, for the first time provide possibility to
the young people to independently organise public events
of larger scale, for example, table game tournaments, creative
workshops, trainings, friendship days, cinema and dance
evenings, as well as thematic events, therefore reaching the
main aim of the project – improved and diversified free time
spending options for the young people. Youth are very
satisfied with the new inventory and the main thing it is used
everyday and have become an integral part of the Youth
Centre.
