About the submitter of the project in a nutshell:
Society KODOLS was founded on 2007. 26 members operate in the
Society. Aims of the society is to promote development of education, entrepreneurship, tourism, culture, sports and development
of various interests groups in the rural municipality of Kazdanga.
Joint works for tidying up of the surroundings have been organised – in 2014 Society organised cutting of the grass in the lake.
Small groups of Nordic Walking, yoga, needlework are organised.
Older members of the Society have founded a singing ensemble of
retired persons. Young people organise sports games and as voluntaries participate in the events organised by the rural municipality.
Society organises regular gatherings to discuss wishes and needs of
the inhabitants of Kazdanga and nearby territories and search for
the possibilities to put them into practice. In total the Society have
implemented 19 projects supported by different funds.
Project description:
In 2014, 13 bicycles were purchased within the frameworks of
the project (two of them tandems) with equipment and three
catamarans with 12 life-saving vests. It is a wonderful addition
to the bicycle routes and places of recreation established in
Kazdanga in 2013 within the frameworks of the LEADER Fishery
Fund. People show a lot of responsiveness. The implemented
project is a valuable investment for the inhabitants, pupils and
guests of Kazdanga as it secures activities for several days in
a row. Bicycles of the society and catamarans are used in the
artists’ plein airs, camps of pupils, new scouts, dancers and singers, as well as people learn about the trees of the park and
plants of the lake, active recreation is promoted in various ways.
