Aim:
to establish multifunctional field in the administrative centre
of the territory of Grobiņa – town of Grobiņa, by equipping 4
different zones with respective elements of sports and active
recreation where locals, including locals with special needs
could spend their free time and engage into various activities.

Rural Territory of Grobiņa is a municipality in Kurzeme that
was developed due to the administratively territorial reform. Council of the Rural Territory of Grobiņa was established in July 1, 2009, when the Town of Grobiņa of the former District of Liepāja were united with the rural territories
of Bārta, Gavieze, Grobiņa and Medze. Town of Grobiņa is an
administrative centre of this rural territory and accordingly
to data as per January 1, 2014, 4110 inhabitants live in the
town. But administrations of rural municipalities operate
in the rural municipalities of Bārta, Gavieze, Grobiņa and
Medze. In total accordingly to data provided by the Office
of Citizenship and Migration Affairs 9874 inhabitants reside
in the rural territory of Grobiņa, including 5764 inhabitants
that reside in the rural municipality of Grobiņa.
Project description:
within the frameworks of the project 4 different zones with
respective sports and active recreation elements are developed: zone with street gymnastics elements, active recreation zone for children up to 7 years of age, active recreation
zone for children and youth from 7 years of age and sports
field zone. Elements of sports/active recreation are placed in
the zones of multi-functional field. Therefore all inhabitants
of the rural territory, as well as guests are welcome to engage
into active recreation, besides foundation of the multifunctional field strengthen general health condition of children
and youth.
