About the submitter of the project in a nutshell:
Establishing of the multi-functional sports field in
Vaiņode.
Rural territory of Vaiņode is located in Kurzeme, 60 km
from Liepāja. It borders with rural territories of Priekule,
Skrunda and Saldus. Has a 17 km border with the
Republic of Lithuania. Rural territory consists of the
rural municipalities of Vaiņode and Embūte. Total area
of the rural territory is 30733.5 ha. Municipality of
the Vaiņode Rural Territory is economically, administratively and territorially independent unit with own
budged based on the financial equalization principled determined by law. Main sources of income are
inhabitant income tax, land and property taxes, subsidies
from the equalization fund, it is a payer of VAT.
Aim:
To build multifunctional sports field –
skating-rink in Vaiņode.

Project description:
Council of the Rural Territory responded to the proposal of
inhabitants to build skating-rink/hockey field in Vaiņode,
and decided to find resources for the building of this
field. In order resources invested in the development
of the field could give maximum return, it was decided
to develop it as a multi-functional field that could be
used both during winter time and summer time. Thus
within the frameworks of the project sports field was
build where during summer people could play volleyball, floor ball, basket ball or perform other activities but
during winter this field could be covered with ice.
